Other Issues That Can Cause SAS/SECURE Toolkit Libraries from RSA to Fail during the Installation Process:

For more information about SAS Software Depots, see SAS Note 39379: "Documentation and frequently asked questions for the SAS® Software Depot."

If You Encounter This Issue in SAS 12w03 or Later

  • The name of the SAS Software Depot is not less than 50 characters, including spaces. See SAS Note 36058: "The installation might fail when you install SAS® 9.2 Foundation from a SAS Software Depot if the fully qualified pathname is too long."
    • The SAS Software Depot contains special characters in the pathname (for example: & or #).
  • The SAS Software Depot is on a nonnative file system. See SAS Note 37370: "An Install Failure dialog box displays 'An error has occurred while processing installation package files' when you install SAS® 9.2 Foundation."
    • There are extra spaces in the SAS Software Depot path (2 or more consecutive spaces). See SAS Note 33606: "Spaces in the SAS Software Depot path might interfere with the installation of SAS® software."
  • Universal Naming Convention (UNC) paths are used instead of a mapped drive letter. See SAS Note 34235: "When installing SAS from a UNC path or a mapped drive, the SAS® 9.2 installation might fail immediately when the System Requirements Wizard starts up."
    • The SAS Software Depot is corrupted.
    • See SAS Note 38236: "Validating the SAS® 9.2 and SAS® 9.3 software depots on Windows using the SAS Software Depot Check Utility."

    • Network issues occur that interfere with the download. In such a case, try creating the SAS Software Depot on the local machine and then try installing from the new SAS Software Depot.
  • If you encounter this issue in SAS 12w03 or later and the depot has been checked, open a Track with SAS Technical Support. Include the following information to help Technical Support isolate the issue:

    • deploywiz.log, SDWPREFS.txt, SDW.log, and SDM.log from

      C:\Users\<userid_that_performed_install>\AppData\Local\ SAS\SASDeploymentWizard\

      or from

      C:\Documents and Settings\<userid_that_performed_install>\ Local Settings\Application Data\SAS\SASDeploymentWizard\

    • C:\Program Files\SASHome\InstallMisc\InstallLogs\IT_date-time-stamp.log

      (for example: IT_2011-01-24-14.36.09.log)

    • All the secure*.logs from

      C:\Program Files\SASHome\InstallMisc\InstallLogs

    • Screen captures of the error you encounter and any logs that are referenced on the screen
    • The System Information by using these steps:

      1. Select Start ► Run and enter msinfo32.exe.
        • When the System Information window appears, select File ► Save and enter system in the File name field. Send Technical Support the system.nfo file that is created.
